New Year, New Me?

So Christmas is over for another year and it's getting to the stage that I just want my house and life back to normal. But I have one more dreaded event... New Year! It probably seems that I moan and dislike everything but I dread New Year even more than Christmas.
For me, new year is a time where everyone boasts about their accomplishments of the previous year and sets unrealistic and unachievable goals. Goal setting is good and important but the point is to set realistic short-term goals. Not that within a year you're going to be the CEO of your own clothing company, own five cars, marry a millionaire, and live in a mansion all because you have a degree.
My goal for 2024 is simply to survive. It's known that I suffer from mental health and long-term goals simply don't work for me. Like so many, I concentrate on surviving the day, then surviving the next day, and then the next. My life changes in the blink of an eye and suddenly I've gone from planning to enrol in a degree to having to attend a long court trial in France. All I want to do is simply get through it. So all this new year, new me crap isn't for me.
I am enough as I am and simply surviving is my new years resolution.
It's been an exciting time for me and no I'm not talking about a visit from an old man in a red coat and his reindeer. My last post about surviving Christmas got picked up by a newspaper and they wrote an article about it
